Conor McAuliffe, Founder and CEO

Conor McAuliffe, Founder and CEOConor has been involved in the semiconductor industry for over 25 years. During this time he has taken on a number of senior design and management roles in both tier-1 and start-up semiconductor companies. This has included positions as a design engineer with Analog Devices and as Technical director for Mixed Signal with Parthus Technologies, which floated on the NASDAQ and LSE in 2000.

In 2003 Conor co-founded Silansys Technologies, a mixed signal design company, where he served as CTO. In 2005 Silansys was acquired by Frontier Silicon Ltd, a UK company focused on designing silicon and module solutions for the Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) radio market and Conor was System Architect focused on their next generation solutions for the growing streaming multimedia market.

In Jan 2009 Conor founded Ikon Semiconductor to develop integrated solutions for the rapidly growing LED lighting market. Conor also sits on the Technical Advisory Board of Movidius ( a developer of low-power video processor hardware and application software for the low-power mobile phone and consumer electronics market.

Paul Grogan, CTO

Paul Grogan, CTOWith over 15 years in the semiconductor industry Paul brings has a wealth of experience that covers practical knowledge in the full range of responsibilities required to take an IC development from initial specification all the way through to mass production. He has worked across a range of companies from tier 1's such as Analog Devices to startups such as Parthus Technologies which later floated on NASDAQ and LSE.

He has held a range of diverse roles including IC design, systems architecture and production engineering. Prior to joining Ikon Semiconductor Paul held the position of analog and mixed-signal technical lead for SoC baseband development at Frontier Silicon having previously worked for Silansys technologies which was acquired by Frontier in 2005. This was a multi-tasking role which involved managing the complete range of activities required to deliver a complex SoC for release into mass production including: system specification, analog and mixed signal design, IP integration, chip packaging, silicon evaluation and characterization, production test and wafer probe, and module development.

Ray Speer

Ray SpeerRay Speer is a graduate of the University of Limerick with BEng and MEng degrees in Electronics and Computing. His career spans chip design, business development and senior management roles across a number of multinational and start-up companies, including Analog Devices, S3/Philips, Parthus Technologies, ChipSensors and Silicon Laboratories.

He joined Parthus Technologies at start-up in 1993 and as VP of Technology was one of the management team that lead the successful IPO on the London and Nasdaq Stock Exchanges in May 2000.

He was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of ChipSensors a company focusing on convergent silicon and sensor technologies. ChipSensors was acquired in 2010 by Silicon Laboratories where he currently manages a team designing silicon chip based gas sensors.

Ray has a strong track record in product innovation, market analysis and commercialization.

Elliott Griffin

Elliott GriffinElliott Griffin is the founder and managing director of Business Venture Partners (BVP). He has considerable experience in raising and managing early stage and growth stage technology investments. Elliott is passionate about sustainability and finding the next lead edge cleantech venture. A commerce graduate of UCD and trained as a Chartered Accountant with PWC, Elliott also worked with Hibernia Capital Partners.
